Recipe: Sinfully Delicious Halloween-Themed Dessert
Chocolate Spider Web Cupcakes 🕸🕷
Ingredients:
1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
1 cup sugar
¼ cup cocoa powder (unsweetened)
1 teaspoon baking soda
½ teaspoon salt
1 cup water
½ cup vegetable oil
1 tablespoon white vinegar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
For the Topping:
1 cup chocolate chips (dark or semi-sweet)
½ cup heavy cream
½ cup white chocolate chips (for the spider web decoration)
Instructions:
For the Cupcakes:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a muffin tin with cupcake liners.
In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
In a separate bowl, mix the water, oil, vinegar, and vanilla extract.
Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until smooth.
Spoon the batter into the cupcake liners, filling each about ¾ full.
Bake for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Let the cupcakes cool completely.
For the Ganache Topping:
Heat the heavy cream in a small saucepan over medium heat until it starts to simmer.
Remove from heat and pour the hot cream over the chocolate chips in a heatproof bowl.
Let the mixture sit for 2-3 minutes, then whisk until smooth.
Once the cupcakes are cool, dip the tops of each cupcake into the ganache, coating the surface evenly.
For the Spider Web Decoration:
Melt the white chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl, stirring every 15-20 seconds until smooth.
Transfer the melted white chocolate into a piping bag (or a ziplock bag with a small corner cut off).
Pipe 3-4 concentric circles on top of each cupcake (start from the center and work your way out).
Use a toothpick or skewer to gently drag lines from the center of the cupcake to the outer edges to create a spider web effect.
Serve & Enjoy:
Let the cupcakes sit until the ganache is set. Then, serve these spooky treats at your Halloween party or enjoy them with a scary movie night!
